Sculptra might be right for you if…

Sculptra isn’t a quick fix. It’s for clients who want a long-term, natural-looking restoration of facial volume and skin firmness — and are willing to let the results build over months.

Your face is starting to look "deflated"

The cheeks have lost their lift. The temples have hollowed. The jawline isn’t as defined as it used to be. This isn’t lines — it’s lost volume from years of declining collagen.

You want results nobody can pinpoint

Because Sculptra works gradually, no one will know exactly when or what you had done. They’ll just say you look well, rested, lifted — without being able to put their finger on why.

You're thinking long-term, not quick-fix

Sculptra results can last up to two years from a full course. If you’re tired of returning every 6–9 months for filler top-ups, this is the alternative most clients move to next.

How Sculptra works

Sculptra is one of the most technique-sensitive injectables in aesthetics. Dilution, depth, placement, and post-treatment massage protocol all directly affect the outcome. This is why every Sculptra treatment at CNT is delivered personally by Catherine — our V300 Independent Prescriber — and never delegated.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) injectable — a collagen biostimulator that has been used in clinical aesthetics for over 20 years. Unlike traditional dermal filler, which physically adds volume the moment it’s injected, Sculptra works by triggering your skin’s own natural collagen production.

How Sculptra works in the body

After Sculptra injection, the PLLA particles sit in the deeper layers of your skin and gently activate the fibroblasts — the cells responsible for producing collagen. Over the following weeks and months, those fibroblasts lay down new collagen scaffolding. The PLLA itself dissolves and is naturally absorbed; what remains is your own newly built collagen.

What you'll notice — and when

Sculptra doesn’t work overnight, and it isn’t designed to. You may see a small immediate effect from the volume of fluid injected, but this settles within 48 hours. The real result builds gradually from week 4 onwards, with peak effect at around 3–6 months. Most clients say the moment they notice is when a friend or colleague tells them they look well — without realising why.

How long Sculptra lasts

Because Sculptra works by stimulating your own collagen, the results last considerably longer than traditional filler. A full course typically maintains results for up to two years, with many clients spacing maintenance vials at 12–18 month intervals.

Sculptra vs traditional dermal filler

The most common question we hear: “How is this different from the filler I’ve been having?” The short answer — they solve different problems.

Sculptra

Dermal Fillers

What is does Stimulates your own collagen production over time Adds volume immediately by sitting in the tissue
When you see results Gradual — full result at 3–6 months Immediate — visible the same day
How long results last Up to 2 years 6–18 months depending on product and area
Best for.. Overall facial restoration, skin firmness, “deflated” look Specific shaping — lips, cheekbones, jawline definition
Reversible No — but results fade naturally over time Yes — hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved
Sessions needed Course of 2–3 vials, spaced 4–6 weeks apart Usually a single session per area

For many clients, the best results come from using both — Sculptra for overall restoration, fillers for specific shaping. We’ll discuss what’s right for you at your free consultation.

Your Sculptra journey: what to expect, week by week

Sculptra rewards patience. Here’s a realistic timeline so you know exactly what’s happening at each stage.

Day 0

Treatment day

Small initial volume from the fluid. Mild redness or swelling, fully settled within 48 hours.

Week 2

Back to baseline

The initial fluid has been absorbed. You’ll look like you did before — collagen building is invisible at this stage.

Week 6

Subtle changes appear

Skin starts to look firmer. Most clients are scheduled for their second vial around this point.

Month 3

Visible results

Volume restoration becoming clear. Friends start commenting that you look “well” or “rested”.

Month 6

Peak result

Full effect of the course visible. Skin firmer, contours restored, natural lift across the face.

Year 1–2

Lasting effect

Results maintained. Most clients return for a maintenance vial at 12–18 months.

Investment

Transparent pricing. No hidden consultation fees. No pressure to commit on the day.

Every Sculptra treatment includes a full clinical consultation with Catherine. We’ll never proceed without one — and we’ll tell you honestly if it isn’t the right treatment for you.

Why clients across Essex choose CNT Clinic

CQC-Registered

One of a small number of CQC-registered aesthetics clinics in Essex. Independently inspected on safety, governance, and clinical standards.

V300 Independent Prescriber

Catherine is a registered nurse and Independent Prescriber, qualified to assess, prescribe, and treat without third-party sign-off. Every Sculptra treatment is delivered by her personally.

Sculptra-trained, properly

Sculptra requires specialist training — dilution, layering, and post-treatment protocol all directly affect the outcome. We invested in proper certification, not a weekend course.

No upselling, ever

If Sculptra isn’t right for you, we’ll say so — and often suggest something simpler or less expensive. Several of our long-term clients are people we initially redirected.

Free consultation, no pressure

Sculptra is a considered decision. We never charge for consultations and never ask you to book on the day. Most clients take 1–4 weeks to decide. That’s normal.

Aftercare that actually exists

Every Sculptra client gets check-ins at 7 days, 14 days, and 3 months. Any concerns, you message Catherine directly — not a contact form.

Frequently asked questions about Sculptra

The questions Sculptra clients ask us most often. If yours isn’t here, just WhatsApp us — we’ll answer personally.

How is Sculptra different from filler?

Filler adds volume immediately by sitting in the tissue. Sculptra triggers your own collagen production over months, so the result is your own tissue rather than a product sitting under your skin. Sculptra also lasts considerably longer — up to two years — but takes patience, with full results visible at 3–6 months.

How many vials do I need?

Most clients start with a 2-vial course, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Some clients with more advanced volume loss benefit from a 3-vial protocol. At your free consultation, Catherine will recommend the right course for your face — and explain clearly why.

When will I see results?

Subtle changes from around week 6, more visible results at 3 months, and the full effect at 6 months. Sculptra is the opposite of an “instant fix” — but the trade-off is that the results last up to two years.

Does Sculptra hurt?

Sculptra is administered using fine needles after a topical numbing cream is applied. Most clients describe it as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. The treatment itself takes around 30–45 minutes per vial.

Is there downtime?

Minimal. You may have small areas of redness or mild swelling for 24–48 hours. Most clients return to work the next day. We’ll ask you to massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 days — a simple protocol that improves the outcome.

How long do Sculptra results last?

Up to two years from a full course, though this varies between individuals based on age, lifestyle, and how rapidly your collagen naturally declines. Many clients return for a single maintenance vial at 12–18 months to top the result up.

Can Sculptra be reversed?

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra cannot be dissolved. This is one reason we always recommend a thorough consultation first, and why we treat conservatively — building gradually with multiple sessions rather than overcorrecting in one. Results fade naturally over time as your body remodels the new collagen.

What areas can Sculptra treat?

Sculptra is most commonly used to restore volume to the cheeks, temples, jawline and lower face, as well as to improve overall skin firmness. It is not typically used in the lips or directly around the eyes — those areas are better treated with hyaluronic acid fillers.

Are there any side effects?

Common, mild side effects can include short-term redness, swelling, or small bruising at injection sites. More significant side effects, such as small nodules under the skin, are rare and usually preventable with correct technique and post-treatment massage. Catherine will discuss all risks fully at your consultation as part of informed consent.

How do I know if Sculptra is right for me or if I should have filler instead?

That’s exactly what the free consultation is for. As a general rule: if you want overall facial restoration and skin firmness over the long term, Sculptra. If you want specific shaping — fuller lips, defined cheekbones, sharper jawline — filler. Many clients eventually have both, used for different purposes.

What to expect from your free Sculptra consultation

Sculptra consultations are more detailed than most — typically 45 minutes. Here’s what happens.

1. Arrive 5 minutes early

24/7 parking in High Chelmer. We’ll greet you, offer you a drink, and settle you into a private consultation room.

2. Medical questionnaire

A detailed form covering medications, allergies, autoimmune history, and previous treatments. For Sculptra this is more thorough than for other injectables — around 10 minutes.

3. Face-to-face assessment with Catherine

Catherine will examine your facial structure, look at how volume loss is presenting, and discuss what you’d like to achieve. We’ll often take consented before-photos at this stage so you have a baseline.

4. Honest recommendation

Catherine will tell you whether Sculptra is right for you, how many vials you’d benefit from, and whether you might be better served by a different treatment (or no treatment at all).

5. Treatment plan and pricing

You’ll leave with a written plan: number of vials, spacing, total cost, and a realistic timeline. No pressure to book on the day — most clients take a week or two to decide.

5. Book when you’re ready

Whether that’s next week or next month, your plan is yours to keep. We’ll be ready when you are.
